It’s gonna suck when there are no more countries where being gay is a taboo thing and there are no more movies purely predicated on two handsome young men wanting to fuck each other more than anything on earth but just lying to each other and themselves about it to the point where it rips them and their relationship apart. Best movie genre in history. When I see a happy gay character on screen I gag and throw up. Nowhere near the best entry in that genre but still very good.

i would literally have to k*ll myself in front of shane and carrie to change the course of their lives if i ever got friendzoned like that especially after getting topped with no a/c in the middle of a humid summer.
this film started off well enough but having known the overused love triangle with a woman trope, i had a feeling it would eventually stumble over itself. i just hate this trope so much cos it never ends well for anyone and more often than not the woman is penalized for being the “obstacle,” even though in this case carrie does knowingly insert herself between shane and jonathan—and that choice felt so odd especially given how she encourages jonathan… -
