A life well lived, a legacy to cherish. Michael Patrick Walsh, known as Mike, has left us with memories and a story that deserves to be told. His passing, at the Mayo Hospice, leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones and the community of Balla, Co Mayo.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Paddy and Mary, his brother Patrick, and his beloved son Ben. A loss that resonates deeply, leaving his wife Maureen, daughter Kate, and the rest of his family with a sense of profound sadness.
But here's where it gets controversial... In a world where family ties are often taken for granted, Mike's passing reminds us of the importance of cherishing every moment. His sister Catherine, brothers John and Canon Chris, daughter-in-law Chiara, and grandson Silas, along with his step-sons Adam and Robin, all feel the weight of this loss. And this is the part most people miss - the extended family, the cousins in the UK and Ireland, the Boyle, Bourke, and Cunniffe families, they too are affected by this departure.
Rest in peace, Mike. Your remains will be laid to rest at St. Cronan's Church, Balla, on Thursday morning, with Mass commencing at 11 a.m. The burial will follow in the New Cemetery.
For those wishing to pay their respects, the house will be private. However, Mike's Funeral Mass will be accessible to all via churchtv.ie/balla, ensuring no one is left out of this solemn occasion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mayo Hospice, Castlebar. This gesture not only honors Mike's memory but also supports a cause close to his heart.
